in May 2009 on a two-year scholarship. After playing for the youth and reserves, he made his first-team debut as a substitute in a Football League match on 17 March 2012.

Hyde

On 31 May 2013, Hughes signed for Hyde on a one-year deal. He made his debut for the club on 17 August 2013, coming on as a second-half substitute in Hyde's 2–2 draw with
